Spring wedding season is in full swing; brunching and bridal showers, summer soirees and afternoon barbecues. Shopping for the perfect gift, or creating your registry, does not have to be a stressful feat. Have you ever heard the saying, from the little things, big things grow? The excitement in registering is in the small details of creating your future home with the person that you love. Recently, I had the pleasure of teaming up with Cortney, of Linen + Rust, to bring you one of a kind gift, and registry, ideas from our favorite Tulsa shop, Jenkins and Co.
Go ahead and register for your blender at the department store, but then head on down Route 66, in Tulsa, to chat with Lisa, the owner of Jenkins and Co. Simply walking in the shop will make planning for your future home together fun!
Lisa is a breath of fresh air, and her shop reflects the passion she has for every single piece she carries. Jenkins and Co., opened its doors in the fall of 2015, and Lisa seeks out handmade products that are not only meaningful for their beauty, but also the change they create for the artisans who crafted them, locally, and all around the world. Lisa sources pieces directly from the makers themselves; or companies that place their focus on creating ethically made products, are doing great things, and have a unique story.
I personally love the ceramic pieces (and the beautiful handmade pillows, throws, textiles, and so much more). You can never have too many serving pieces, and each one would make a great gift!
5 Registry Tips to make the process easy as pie!
- Register Together!
- Consider your guests: Hit all the price points.
- Don’t be a slave to traditional registry lists. Have fun with it! Local shops and boutiques offer unique items that will add a personal touch to your home.
- Include online registries: Maybe this is obvious, but if you love a local boutique shop like Jenkins and Co., that does not yet offer online registries, don’t shy away from adding it to your list! Rule of thumb: make sure at least one of your registries is available online, and one is available for your guests to place their orders in person, or on the phone.
- Don’t forget to say Thank You! If there is one tradition not to let go of, it is hand written thank you notes.
Cortney and I had so much fun finding unique gifts for Linen + Rust brides, and we know that Jenkins and Co. will quickly become one of your favorite places to shop too! You’ll also find some pieces from a Fencerow favorite, The Makerage, in store! We cannot wait for you to check it out!
