My in-laws are currently in sunny California. I am full of envy as we attempt to survive the single digit temperatures happening here in Oklahoma. Fun. They spent the weekend exploring Santa Monica and LA, texting us photos every step of the way. Today they are in Pasadena cheering on OU at the Rose Bowl (BOOMER).

My mother-in-law sent a picture near the Santa Monica Pier. They were standing near the exact lifeguard tower I stood by with my bestie, Betsy, a few short weeks ago.

Naturally, I started reliving all of those happy moments from when we packed up and ventured west, and wanted to share them with you!

Having no idea what to expect with no set agenda, I cannot even begin to tell you how amazing this trip was. There are endless amounts of things to do in LA. Here are a few things we managed to squeeze in on our trip:

La-Beverly hills hotel.jpeg

day ONE

Breakfast - Joan's on Third

Drinks poolside at The Beverly Hills Hotel, Cabana Cafe

Took a stroll down Rodeo Drive

Santa Monica Pier...maybe we should call it the beach, with the pier in the background, because we never actually made it to the pier.

Dinner - The Pink Taco (I was a little too excited for this one, and it didn't disappoint)

day TWO

Runyon Canyon (TFR TIP: Make sure fog is NOT covering the Hollywood sign before you hike an hour up the mountain. TRUST ME.)

Breakfast - The Viviane Restaurant at the The Avalon Hotel

Wine Bar + Drinks in Echo Park - Bar Bandini  + Thirsty Crow

Dinner - Il Pastaio

Brunch - The Beverly Hills Hotel, round two (we loved it so much we went back)

Reformation (more on this later, but this is a MUST)

The Musso & Frank Grill on Hollywood Boulevard

Griffith Observatory (Go forth and live out all of your La La Land dreams. But, beware. It is a HOT tourist attraction, so be prepared for crowds, and lengthy travel times to and from the observatory.)

Laurel Hardware (the Spaghetti Arrabbiata was amazing!)

Breakfast - Cheebo (loved the staff and the food!!)

Dusty and I are already planning another Cali trip! What are your 2018 travel plans?
